Old age is the phase of life when a person's body is starting to slow down and organs are not able to perform as well as they used to. With age come various forms of diseases that weaken the body and the person is simply not able to recover from them. Most people die of old age because their body is no longer able to function the way it used to. It’s a natural occurrence, as people are aging and the diseases they acquire become more powerful and they cannot recover. Another reason people mostly die of old age is because of the accumulation of multiple, long-term illnesses that wear down the body and weaken the person’s ability to survive. Age-related issues such as weakened vision, hearing and balance, as well as cognitive decline, make living a long life very difficult. As such, the elderly often succumb to illnesses or other complications that might not be fatal at the younger ages.
